Attucks Alternative Academy is an extension to the high school and middle school programs of the participating school districts in our consortium. Attucks Alternative Academy currently serves Vinita and White Oak.

Our goal is to provide a preventive program to intervene before students dropout due to excessive absences, academic deficiencies or disinterest in school because of low academic success.

The program is a collaborative community model providing the opportunity for students and parents to benefit from all of the community agencies that may be of service in dealing with specific individual and family challenges.

We provide individualized educational programs, which may include vocational training, full-day classes, concurrent enrollment with the regular schools, work-study, service learning and counseling. A flexible model is deigned to ensure services which may not originally have been incorporated into a students program.

In addition to the core curriculum taught, students have the opportunity to learn life skills through course work, counseling and service learning projects within the community.

We are a family at Attucks Alternative Academy where mutual respect and integrity are reinforced.  Pursuit of excellence in academics and personal living is our goal.
